The site recruits writers from the US,  Australia, UK, Canada, and New Zealand who in turn write blog posts, case studies, Facebook posts, product descriptions, Twitter posts, white papers, newsletters, grants and much more.

Getting Started

To get started on the site, you’ll need to fill an application where you will list:

  • your contact information

You will also need to upload your CV and agree to their terms and conditions.

After that, you will undergo a writing test and hear back in about a week on how you performed.

If you are accepted, you will receive a star rating (just like in TextBroker) of between 2 and 5.

Once you work on a writing project and submit it, the client will then approve of it or request for a revision.

Writing Access urges writers to agree to atleast one revision request.

How Much Does Writers Access Pay and When?

You first need to know that there are two marketplaces in Writers Access. There’s the Basic Marketplace and the Pro Marketplace.

Writers are given different ratings at the Basic Marketplace and your ratings determine how much you get paid.

The pay ranges from$1.4 to 7 cents per word.

Here’s more info on the same:

Level 2 orders pay at least 1.4 cents per word

Level 3 orders pay at least 2.8 cents per word

Level 4 orders pay at least 4.2 cents per word

Level 5 orders pay at least 5.6 cents per word

Level 6 orders pay at least 7.0 cents per word

In contrast, writers in the Pro Marketplace negotiate directly with the clients on the pay they want, depending on their certifications, awards and verified pay rates.

Writer Access pays twice per month via PayPal but you need to have a minimum balance of $10.

PS: To get higher ratings, you need to consistently deliver great quality on time, receive good reviews from clients and work well on any revision requests you may receive. Your ratings will continue to fall if you receive less than stellar customer reviews and if clients ask for refund requests.

What’s Hot About Writers Access

  • It’s a strong and credible site.
  • Helpful and supportive staff.
  • One of the better-paying content mills out there.

What’s Not

  • The application process is rather strenuous.
  • Unlike the other sites mentioned above, the pay is not done weekly.
  • Work can be hard to come by sometimes.

Working for the above freelance writing sites (aka content mills) cannot really be guaranteed for a full-time income, not to mention that some sites have picky editors who can make you feel like you want to pull your hair out.

Still, if you’re looking to get your feet wet in this industry, these entry level freelance writing jobs maybe what you need. You can earn some extra income and gain writing experience. Definitely look into registering on one or two of these sites.
